Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime series in history.
Dargonball Z is the middle series of the anime, Before it was Dragonball and after it is Dragonball GT.
Dragonball Z follows a young man by the name of Goku, Goku soon learns he isn't a normal human. His long lost brother Raditz comes to earth and reveals to him that he is infact a Saiyan from the planet Vegetasei and his real name is Kakarot. Raditz cannot understand why Goku/Kakarot didn't destroy all live on earth. Goku explains that he bumped his head when he was a child and probably forgot he ever was a Saiyan. Raditz steals Goku's son Gohan and blackmails him in destroying the earth's people. Goku however doesn't agree and him and Piccolo, A tall green man team up and defeat Raditz but in the process Goku dies with his brother.
This is how Dragonball Z starts and after the Raditz dies two more Saiyin's are introduced. Prince Vegeta, a short dark hair unforgiving Prince of Saiyins and Napa a tall bald headed man with little to nohing knowledge of anything, these two Saiyin's come to earth to find the dragonballs. both are defeated and Only Prince Vegeta survives, he retreats back to were he come from. This starts off the 'Saiyin Saga' full of fighting and death.
With piccolo gone so is Kami and the Dragonballs. Bulma a green haired women with fire in her eyes, Krillin a bald headed monk and Gohan the son of Goku fly off into space to locate piccolo's home planet where they can wish back there friends who died in the 'Saiyin saga'. This starts the 'Namik saga' where goku and the Z fighters try to recover the dragon balls on planet namik before Vegeta does. They quickly find out about a evil being named Freeza and his army of strong warriors. Vegeta teams up with Krillin and Gohan, together they manage to defeat ever last soilder of Freeza's besides the feared Ginyu force. Goku soon arrives and defeats even the Ginyu force. Goku goes head to head with the mightest fighter ever in Dragonball Z, Freeza. after many epiosodes of Goku being beat into a pulp. Vegeta and krillin both die causing Goku to be thrown into a fit of rage and turn into a Super Saiyin. Even the mighty Freeza is no match for Goku's new found power.
Namik is blown up and goku escapes just in the nick of time, Freeza is killed, or so it seems. The Z gang meet at a place in the desert and are confronted once again by the powerful freeza. When all hope is lost, a mysterious Saiyin appears and makes quick work of freeza and his father King cold. This mysterious Saiyin meets goku when he lands on earth an tells him that a even more powerful force is threating the earth once again. This starts the 'andriod saga'. In this saga, Vegeta and bulma have a child which turns out to be the mysterious Saiyin who saved them from Freeza, trunks. An old foe of Goku's from Dragonball has made killing Machines to destory Goku and everything he loves, andriods 17 and 18, and a andriod Trunks never spoke of andriod 16. But an even more evil andriod is growing while Goku and the Z fighters are paying all attention on the andriods. Cell appears and swallows Both andriods trying to kill Goku. Cell becomes perfect and reveals he has DNA of all the most powerful fighters in the universe. Cell holds a tournement and fights Goku, But it is in fact Goku's son Gohan who kills Cell in the end. Goku dies and reveals that he will never again come back to life.
7 Years pass and once again the Z gang come together for a world martial arts tournement. Goku comes back to earth for one day. The tournement soon turns strange as a Mysterious apponent apears and is revealed to be the supreme Kia, The keeper of all the universe. This soon turns into the 'Mayjin Buu saga' once again the world is threatened by an unspeakable evil, a fat pink blob by the name of Mayjin Buu, Buu changes numorous times and killes and swallows the whole Z gang except Goku and Vegeta who are both back from the dead. They in the end kill the last form of Buu and save the world once more...
The series then goes on to Dragonball GT.
